The optical media still has some problems
« on: April 14, 2017, 12:50:16 PM »
After some additional testing with optical media created from any of the .iso files, some problems have been identified.  A list has been compiled below (as of 4/14/2017):

- When booting using the "Start XiniX" option in the boot menu, the package contents are symlinked instead of copied to RAM causing sluggishness
- The readonly directory storing the core XiniX software never gets updated to a writable directory for additional software downloads to occur

It is recommended that you use some type of writable media such as a flash drive or hard drive and the .img file to get a fully working environment.  Users that can not perform this step will need to wait for a future release that corrects these bugs.

The problem can be resolved by upgrading to the current latest version of the software (2017.05.07.0).
